Seerestaurant Forster in Schondorf am Ammersee

Nice location but the prices are not appropriate for the ambience. Nothing has been invested there for 20 years and yet the prices are higher than for example. at the “Seepost”, the “Alte Villa” or even at the chic restaurant “Lenas am See”.

Hardly recommendable with a really good conscience. The rusticity of the staff can be described as marginal, the quality of the food mixed (if it comes together at all) and the prices are partly arbitrary and partly simply inappropriate. Man feels a bit undesirable. The second star is dedicated to the great view of the Ammersee, but that's about it.

Very nice and quiet location. Nice view of the lake and mountains. The smoked Ammerseerenke was very tasty. Point deduction for bread that was still ice cold and was probably frozen and thawed. And for the long wait for lunch during the week, when there wasn't much going on.

Delicious selection of cakes, very good cappuccino and very friendly service, what more could you want.

In the evening 5.30 p.m. Thursday in 30 degrees summer weather. 3 controls. 1/3 of the garden occupied. Waited a long time for the menu, drinking and eating. Salad with mozzarella sticks and salad with chicken in the price-performance ratio a joke. 4 sticks in an extra bowl. Salad like from the buffet spread on plates with a water dressing. The Wiener schnitzel for just under 20 euros tough .. Went back and was canceled. It's a shame about the beautiful restaurant that has been in need of renovation for years, because it has great potential right on the water in the bay. All these years it has been bobbing around. Sad.

Decent food and nicely located but cash only - totally unacceptable. The fact that we have a pandemic and that contactless payments are standard has obviously not yet reached this point.

Unfortunately rather slow service. I waited 30 minutes for my light. And only half of the tables outside were occupied. Inside was empty.

I don't normally write reviews, but I really have to share what I experienced yesterday. At first we were ignored for about 10 minutes at the entrance area and when we were at the table, we were not served for a long time, because according to Kellner "nobody is really responsible for this table". There is also a jam in the kitchen, which is why you have to wait about 90 minutes for food. At four in the afternoon. The waiter was obviously overwhelmed with the overall situation and was eventually replaced by a colleague. Kässpatzen were fine.

Great service, great catfish, again and again.

The 2 person fish portion is amazing. It is made with fresh caught fish from Amersee. Too bad it is closed in the winter.

Salad was adequate but should've ordered the fresh fish instead. We sat outdoors by the shore but you'd better have cash. They take neither EC card or credit cards

Nice restaurant with beer garden and view of the Ammersee, friendly service

Well, a coffee that had-well, outwardly-its best days. The view of the lake is unbeatable, but this also has its price ... The big coffee, 4,40 € ... but there are about 3 cups in the pot !!! The service was nice and courteous .... The toilets are..NA JAAAA ... see for yourself!

Very nice place to eat and relax. You have only a few dishes to choose from, but they are very tasty. The fisch plate for two is the reason why every year, from April untill October, we go there at least one time per month. It is incredible tasty and always very fresh. The Eis-Caffee is also very nice. And the lake is making all the money. !If you go there, be ready to pay cash (very often the POS system is kaputt).

Friendly staff . Therefore also 4 stars, since the food is only with 3 stars.

The aroma of the veal sausages is good, but the texture is a bit very "greasy". There is also much better. The glass wasn't clean. The flying animal was stuck inside the glass. Of course, you always notice that too late. The animal was so firmly pinned that it didn't soften while I was there. Perhaps one of you will meet the body again in a few weeks - in the glass. The operator tried hard. Waiting times were clearly pronounced.

In terms of equipment, the café is somewhere between the youth hostel and the tourist restaurant of the 40s to the 60s. Since you feel right back to school again. The lawn in front of it reinforces the impression. Unless it is, as in our stay, not refractory, the food comes quickly. The staff was friendly and took great care of us ...

Unfortunately it was a quiet day until my brother arrives with his dog and the lady in the kiosk starts yelling at him because the dogs are forbidden. What is wrong about it is that there were 2 other dogs on the beach and one of them was swimming. But she choose to yell only at my brother. What is lso insulting is that at the end she was only saying: "get out, get out". Of course, no sign of dogs forbidden or anything like that.

The view is great on this quaint little village. Don't miss out on walking around a bit too. Menu offers a wide selection and even though the kitchen looks a bit barren the food was good

The chef was very knowledgable and proud of his work. He was able to explain everything in English to us and provide wine pairings. The fish comes fresh from the lake and is prepared very well.
